OUR MISSION:

Uniting and equipping families to successfully transition from homeschool into ministry and career, through:

  • A sense of purpose and vision for serving God's Kingdom
  • A clear understanding of Biblical principles for family life and business
  • Discipleship
  • Avoiding worldly entanglements
  • Entrepreneurial exploits that preserve our freedom and ability to carry out God's calling

Entrepreneurs have a passion, a vision, and are driven to create. They are willing to take a risk to create something new, solve problems, challenge the status quo, and they think outside the box. They are self starting, determined, hard working, innovative...they have a purpose they are working toward and a vision to do something great. Isn't that what we all want for our families?

"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

(Galatians 6:9)

What is the Raising Entrepreneurs Conference all about? It is a Family / Parenting / Homeschooling / Business conference rolled into one!

A Family Conference:

Before we can talk about entrepreneurship we have to consider what makes a successful family. This is achieved by developing a team spirit and a willingness and love for working together, beginning at a very young age (toddler years). We also address building family unity, avoiding things that tear the family apart, discipleship, and building parent-teen relationships.  In the Bible, the beginning of the teen years signified adulthood. This conference will give you a clear understanding of how to move from the early years of child-training to adulthood. We will also talk about what to do when a teen rebels.

A Homeschooling Conference:

Many homeschoolers today simply try to reproduce the public school at home. During the Industrial Revolution the public school was modified to make students feel "average" through grading and testing methods in order to produce an abundance of blue collar "worker bees." There was a "need" to squelch creativity, initiative, leadership, and masculinity in men, so people would not have the confidence to lead, but would be content to merely follow instructions and work for a low income. The public school system continues to follow this same model today, as well as today's colleges and universities. Of all the knowledge in the world, the public school system has dictated which small slice of knowledge they think is important for everybody to know in order to be "equipped" for life. We will be discussing how to tailor your home education to your individual children in order to assist them in developing a meaningful purpose and vision for their lives. We will discover together how to break away from reproducing the public school in your home and understanding the Biblical model for education.

A Parent's Conference:

God calls fathers to be the leaders of their families. This includes "knowing the state of their flock" and being involved in every aspect of raising and nurturing their family. We discuss the challenges of wives at home, and husbands coming along side their wives and helping in the planning and implementation of schooling. We will talk about setting a family vision. We also address how fathers can spend meaningful time with their children, hearing their hearts and discipling them along the path to maturity and entrepreneurial thinking. Dave will share his personal experiences in these areas and how he learned to "make the time" in spite of a very busy travel schedule and the rigors of starting a business.

A Business Conference:

Many facets of starting a business will be addressed. We will be challenging the status quo thinking (graduating to get a job), and replacing this with a Biblical world view to create and invent new business opportunities and apply Biblical business principles. Some of the topics include: developing your business "idea" around identifying your people group and the need you want to meet, selling, marketing, consulting, operations, financial management, time management, innovation, developing adjacent markets, and developing a solid value proposition. We also identify major causes of business failure, how to get your family more involved in your business, and building a portfolio of experience (college, resumes, and real world experience).

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Fathers! You fathers are called to lead your families. Don't leave these things to your wife alone! Come be exhorted to rise up and lead!

Mothers! You mothers are called to be a help meet to your husband. Come find out how to better help your husband and encourage your children!

Young People! The Bible considers you to be an adult if you are 13 or over! Take seriously your transition to adulthood! Come seeking vision, purpose, and a plan!

Children of all ages are welcome provided they can sit quietly for extended periods of time during the conference. There is a lobby with couches available to take small children out if the need arises.

Grandparents! If you are involved in the lives of your grandchildren, and want to see them grow into maturity at an early age, come and learn how to encourage them in the right direction!

Business Owners or Prospective Business Owners! Come learn how to start or improve your existing business through Biblical business principles.

SOME OF THE TOPICS WE WILL COVER INCLUDE:

  • Disciplines of the father (including coming alongside your wife, setting a family vision, developing a work ethic in young children, avoiding the social/entertainment trap in the teen years, and a parent's responsibility when a teen rebels.)
  • How to avoid recreating the public school at home and understanding the Biblical model for education.
  • Building a portfolio of experience; college, resumes and real world experience.
  • How to start a business (including choosing your people group and identifying the need you plan to meet.)
  • Disciplines of business (including marketing, selling, consulting, operations, financial management, time management, innovation, and developing adjacent markets.)
  • Learning how to get your family more involved in your business and inspring young people toward greater purpose earlier on in life.
  • Identifying major causes of business failure

Parents will discover how to reclaim responsibility for their God-given roles, in discipling/training up children to be entrepreneurs, as well as how to create meaningful and profitable work for children - that may develop into long term business opportunities.

Individuals will learn what is necessary to lay a foundation for successful business and entrepreneurship.

You will discover a Biblical alternative to the failing education programs that rely on large corporations for future employment.
